Of course, dogs are man's best friend. What most people don't know is that dogs are not easy pets to have. Now, there are some people that are going to be upset about this article, but you really should think twice before getting a dog. You don't want to end up dumping your new dog.

The kids are driving you insane, "mommy I want to have a dog"
Perhaps you want a companion, and you think getting a dog is a good idea. Before you get a dog there are some reasons to consider dog adoption.
Dogs bite children. Yes, they do. If you have children under the age of ten is not really a good idea to have a dog. Kids playing, running, screaming around the house can make your dog feel anxious. Dogs that feel anxious are more likely to bite people, not just kids. Those sharp teeth can do a lot of damage, and can traumatize your child for life.
Dogs bark. They are loud. Not a nice sound to hear in the middle of the night.
Dogs need lots of attention. If you are never home a dog is not the best pet for you. Studies show that dogs go mental if they are left alone for long periods of time. If you can't give them the right amount of the attention they need, don't get one. Dogs need a whole lot more than just a stroll around the neighborhood.
The jumping and licking. If you don't mind coming home to find your dog jumping and licking all over you, then you must be one of those people who loves to kiss your dog. However, the jumping and running can be terrifying for the guests coming over.
Dogs are dirty. They lay down their poop everywhere they feel like it, your lawn, your bed, and in their own beds. Yes, you are probably thinking, "they are animals, of course they have to poop" If you don't mind picking up that shit, go for it. Just make sure that you always pick it up. Take responsibility, bag the shit and bin it. That's a horrible task to perform. Are you sure you still want to get a dog? Do you have a strong stomach?
Dogs smell. If you don't wash your dog, they will smell pretty bad. Are you ready to get urine stains, or dog smell out of the furniture?
Dogs wreck stuff. Yep, they chew, scratch, and eat on everything. Goodbye new furniture.
